
Girl Scout Troops 11080, 11081, 11082, and 11132, affiliated with the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts, meet the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month from 3:30-6:30p in the cafeteria and, occasionally, the classrooms and gym off of the cafeteria to hold troop meetings.
Girls participate in arts and crafts, have snacks, and complete other program curricula under the supervision of trained adult volunteers. Participating girls include Gr. K-8 students from Alhuda, Al Hamra and other area public schools.

InshAllah we are planning on having an Influential Women in Islamic History session where every week we talk about a certain Muslimah that has impacted islam.
The first Saturday will be about Khadijah (R) and her role as a Muslimah.
We will be having ice breakers and activities to allow sisters to get to know each other.

WIC’s Annual 2011 Ramadan I’tikaf
It is a known sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (saws) to make i’tikaf in the masjid during the last 10 days and nights of Ramadan. He (saws) and many of his companions would spend this time focused on worshiping Allah and seeking Laylat ul-Qadr.
As such, the Worcester Islamic Center will be hosting an Open I’tikaaf invitation to our Muslim community for I’tikaf during the last 10 days and nights of Ramadan.
Qiyam ul-Layl prayers will be offered nightly.
The I’tikaf will be held in the WIC Prayer Hall. Tents may be setup on the far end of the hall.

A Brief Biography on Imam Khalid Yasin
Born and raised in New York, Imam Yasin rose to fame in the Brooklyn Imam network in the late 1980s. Imam Yasin has extensively studied Arabic in Madinah and Cairo and has had many mentors and teachers who have tutored him in Fiqh us-Sunnah, Fiqh us-Seerah, Islamic history, and memorization and recitation of the Qur’an. the Young Muslims of the Worcester Masjid will be having a bake sale this Friday, June 22nd during the weekly dinner to raise funds for events.
The bake sale will be open from 9:00pm – 10:00pm.
