Assalam Alaiakum and Ramadan Mubarak
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
All praises be to Allah. The year has gone by quickly and we are blessed to have Ramadan upon us once again. As we break our fasts and enjoy our meals with friends and family, there are many who don’t have this privilege. As we all know, it is through fasting that the servant of Allah (swt) is better able to understand the plight and trial of the hungry throughout the world. Indian Muslim Relief & Charities (IMRC) is a 29 year old charitable, not for profit organization, and has dedicated itself towards improving the lives of Muslims and Minorities in Indian sub-continent through education, food, shelter, legal support and many other programs. Allah (swt) has made it obligatory upon us to collect and distribute Fitra funds amongst the poor Muslims before Eid ul-Fitr. IMRC has always tried to support the needy during Ramadan. Please take advantage of this opportunity to donate some of your Zakat to IMRC so that we may continue to serve the poor and deserving.
Thousands of needy people, including orphans, have been waiting the whole year for this month of charity. Your Zakat will truly make a difference and your reward will be waiting for you with your Lord on the Day of Judgment. As the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “…Charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.” [Ahmed]
IMRC will be having a fundraiser at Worcester Islamic Center (WIC) on Friday, Aug 20th, 2010 after Maghrib prayer (8pm-9pm). Please join us in learning about IMRC and its efforts in helping the needy this Ramadan.
We look forward in seeing you there!
