Our community is proud to announce a unique opportunity to organize youth ages 13 – 25 in Central Massachusetts. Initially, the group will meet to gather momentum and share valuable ideas. Youth, both male and female, ages 13 - 25 are encouraged to attend for the sake of Allah to unite and provide any experience that is useful as we move forward in accomplishing our goals. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to come. The group is inclusive of all youth with a desire to identify themselves as Muslims and involve themselves in activities that will serve not only the Muslim community but the community at large.
About YM
The mission of the group is to gain knowledge, to develop one’s character and spiritually, and to serve Allah (swt). We are Muslim Youth United to Serve Allah (MYUSA). It is critical that every Muslim develops a solid, comprehensive, and practical understanding of Islam from the Quran, Sunnah, and the legacy of the ‘Ulama. This will facilitate, among many things, the ability to serve one’s community with wisdom. As one strengthens their connection with Allah (swt), they will be truly capable of benefiting others. Embodying the characteristics of our Prophet (s) (kindness, generosity, patience, and much more) will develop maturity and a sense of responsibility. Allah’s messenger (s) said:
“Whoever makes things easy for others in this world, Allah (swt) will make things easy for him both in this world and in the Hereafter… Allah helps His servant as long as His servant is engaged in helping his brother.” [Sahih Muslim]
In this spirit, the youth group will try to organize activities to help meet the needs of its communities such as feeding the needy, raising funds, interfaith, volunteering, organized sports, etc.
Please come out and show your support. All ideas are welcomed. YOU can make this group better. Even if you are already involved in activities like these, come and share with us what worked well and what did not. Make every effort to come to the first meeting with an open mind where I know you will feel at home. This is a community building activity that will eventually lead to creating a YM brothers and YM sisters group.
In the Beginning…
The group came together in June of 2010 to fulfill many goals. Of course, serving Allah by serving the Muslim Community and its neighbors was a priority, and what better way to do that than during Ramadan. This blessed month became our first goal.
Al-hamdulillah, with the help of a team of very dedicated sisters, YM was able to prepare a beautiful banner to welcome the month of Ramadan. The project is not done yet. There is an Eid Banner in the making as well as a Masjid and YM banner. Please come join us. May Allah reward all those involved.
Our Events
Bake Sales: Every Wednesday and Friday, the YM sponsors a bake sale. All profits (except those needed to run the group) are donated to the masjid. Last week, after just one sale, we collected enough to donate $400 to the masjid! Please continue to support our efforts by offering to bake or buying our delicious treats so we can donate that much every week.
Food Drives: YM has begun a food drive in order to help local families in need. The food drive was a joint project involving MCSS and WIC. Together we are working to collect food to the help needy Muslims in our community. We encourage you to donate all non-perishable food items as well as hygiene products.
Here are some ideas: Peanut butter, spices, salt and pepper, evaporated milk, baby food, pasta, rice, crackers, raisins, cereal, jelly or jam, 100% juice, oatmeal, paper towels, paper napkins, toothbrushes, toothpaste, canned fish, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned soup, flour, soap, dry or canned beans, shampoo, sponges, deodorant, toilet paper, diapers, semolina, coffee or tea, dry or powdered milk, laundry/dish detergent and tomato products.
We have boxes set up in the social hall of the masjid. During this blessed month, take the initiative and donate!
Charity: YM has taken the initiative to raise funds for Pakistan that has been stricken with floods 5 times worse than the tsunami that hit Indonesia according to secretary of the UN. Given the devastating situation, we are launching a Pennies for Pakistan drive. Of course, pennies are not enough, so please donate generously. All proceeds will go to Islamic Relief’s Pakistan Fund. There will be jugs placed near the entrance to the salat hall on both the sides for the men and women. Please help our brothers and sisters in need.
Ice Cream Truck: Coming soon is our ice cream truck service as well as our tutoring service. Check back for more updates.

@samy MAbrouk – I’m not sure if you can join because the age limit is 25, but I think they might be looking for organizers and volunteers… you should inquire with somebody during Friday Prayers.
