Advanced Islamic Studies Program
It is a part of our mission at Worcester Islamic Center to be able to prepare our community members for a lifelong commitment towards the learning of the sacred sciences and a deep sense of social responsibility. Our vision is to provide an education that enables students to establish faith (Iman), practice (Islam), and excellence (Ihsan) first and foremost in their own lives and prepares them to be able to contribute more fully towards a complex changing society. We offer classes in an academic semester style schedule.

In this course, Muhammad Xhemali will explain Imam Nawawi’s Forty Hadith, using classical commentaries and a wide range of reference works in Islamic scholarship. The importance of the 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi cannot be over-emphasized. Each hadith is based on a foundational principle of Islam. Each hadith showcases the beauty of the comprehensive words of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). This collection has been recognized, accepted, and appreciated by Muslim scholars for the last seven centuries. This course will clarify for the student, the meanings, beauty, and guidance in these central Prophetic sayings, which Imam Nawawi selected as being hadiths around which the message of Islam revolves.
